Discussion Board and Chat Room Guidelines

Welcome to the PainAid Online Support Community!

PainAid's discussion boards and chat rooms are for your support and empowerment. Below are some of the basic rules which apply to behavior and conduct in this community.  By registering for and participating in the discussion boards and chat rooms, each member signifies acceptance of these guidelines.

Our conference rooms and discussion boards do not allow the following:
  • Any chat or post deemed to be an attempt at harassment or hatefulness toward any person or group of people. Harassment or bashing based on gender, race, color, sexual orientation, age, disability, religious views or any other reason is not allowed in PainAid discussion boards and chat rooms.

  • Threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive or fraudulent behavior. Any such behavior is expressly forbidden and may result in immediate termination of a member's account.

  • Any chat or post that contains vulgar or obscene language. Chats or posts that contain vulgar or obscene language (regardless of how the word is used) will not be tolerated. There are some phrases/words that are used in everyday talk, but they may not be appropriate for this community. We are a family-oriented site, and we expect our members to conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to all age groups.

  • Any chat or post that solicits the exchange of explicit, X-rated, videos or photos in any format (i.e., GIFs, JPGs, MPGs). Distribution of explicit images is prohibited by law. PainAid does not allow the posting or trading of explicit or X-rated images or messages.

  • Any chat or post that contains advertisements or personal solicitations. This site is dedicated to support and empowerment. Attempts to solicit, accept or allow advertisements may result in the termination of PainAid membership.

  • Any chat or post that attempts to solicit drugs of any sort, or give or seek information regarding their illegal distribution according to U.S. law. Any such attempt will result in immediate termination of the member's account.

  • Any behavior that encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense.

  • Any discussion or chat that contains intent to disrupt the chat room or discussion board or which causes disruption.

  • The listing of any physician or provider name and/or contact information. Any such information will be deleted without notice.

  • Spam. PainAid or any of our communication tools may not be used to transmit, directly or indirectly, any unsolicited bulk communication, email, or instant messages. Gathering information about our members for the purpose of sending, or to facilitate the sending, of unsolicited bulk communications is forbidden.

  • Posts that contain viruses or any other computer code, files or programs that interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of the PainAid program.  Any unauthorized use of PainAid membership will result in immediate termination of the account.

PainAid Activity

PainAid moderators review discussion boards and chat logs regularly.  If a PainAid moderator finds it necessary, the log may be forwarded to a Review Team. If the Review Team finds evidence that a member has violated PainAid guidelines or standards of conduct, PainAid memership may be revoked.

Changes to PainAid Guidelines

We may change these guidelines at any time. PainAid members are responsible for checking these guidelines periodically for updates or revisions.
